Die 500 gr\u00f6\u00dften Konzerne der Welt, die j\u00e4hrlich vom Wirtschaftsmagazin \u201eFortune\u201c in einem Ranking ver\u00f6ffentlicht werden, sind als transnational agierende \u201eglobal player\u201c als die Hauptprotagonisten der \u00f6konomischen Globalisierung anzusehen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ausgangspunkt des Projekts \u201eThe global 500\u201c ist eine Recherche in den Jahresberichten und auf den Websites der 500 gr\u00f6\u00dften transnationalen Konzerne. Die Installation und das dazugeh\u00f6rige Video basieren auf einer Auswahl von Statements der Konzerne, die verschiedene Argumentationsstrategien in Bezug auf die \u00f6konomische Globalisierung repr\u00e4sentieren. Im Video (SD, 76 Min., 1999) werden diese hegemonialen Globalisierungsthesen von Mitarbeitern von Gewerkschaften und NGOs, von Theoretikern und einer \u00d6konomin kommentiert, analysiert und kritisiert:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Den neun Fotografien in der Installation liegen ausgew\u00e4hlte Seiten aus den Gesch\u00e4ftsberichten transnationaler Konzerne zugrunde, die wichtige Parameter von \u00f6konomischer Globalisierung ansprechen und visualisieren. Diese Seiten aus den Gesch\u00e4ftsberichten wurden zerkn\u00fcllt und in Schwarzwei\u00df fotografiert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
